• What is a “Licensed Career School?”
We have met all the legal requirements set forth by the Texas Workforce Commission and continue to operate under their authority.
  • Is there a minimum age you must be to enroll?
The minimum age to enroll in the Wedding Consulting course is 18. Each student must have graduated from high school or have a GED equivalent.
  • What options do I have after completing your course?
Many Certificate holders go on to start their own business. Students will also have the confidence in applying for employment with Hotel Sales Departments, Catering Departments, and Churches (to name examples). This Certificate does not restrict you to a single area; it can be used all over the country for this field in wedding and event planning.
  • Is there any support offered after completion?
Yes. AWC feels it is crucial for success to offer support to its students. You actually become a member of the AWC (free for the first year included with tuition). Questions are always welcomed! Information will be shared in group meetings and thru a newsletter.
  • What will I learn?
You will learn how to plan and direct an entire wedding event. We will show you how to conduct interviews with prospective clients, vendors, and clergy members. Not only do we teach you how to choose vendors that meet your clients’ needs, we also let you experience the work vendors do so you get a genuine feeling and understanding of their practice. You will also plan budgets and layouts for different sizes of weddings. This includes completing necessary forms, ceremony and reception layouts, menus, decorations, interviews and itineraries.
  • What if I cannot make it to all 3 sessions?
To receive the benefits of the instruction and to maintain a professional environment, it is imperative to be in class on time and every day. We do understand that emergencies arise and will absolutely discuss with the student outside of class time the best way to deal with the absenteeism.
  • What is the cost?
    Tuition is $975
  • What is your refund policy?
A full refund will be made to any student who cancels the enrollment contract within 72 hours (until midnight on the third day excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays).
  • Is there an Association of Wedding Consulting membership and what are the dues?
Yes. The dues for the first year are waived if you complete the wedding course. After that dues are $99 per year for the wedding association.
  • Are there any homework assignments outside of class time?
Yes. Homework will be given at the end of each session. Sessions I and II are due the following class day. You will have two weeks to complete and mail homework given after Session III. If you are unable to complete the two week timeline you must contact the office to ask for an extension up to one week. If no contact has been made, a grade of incomplete will be given.
